10:06 PM; Rah rah.
I realised that I will be very busy for about the next three weeks.
The Singapore Studies test is coming up and so is the Physiology one. Then there is the presentation on proteins in muscles for the SP module on top of the 2 lab sessions that I will be having for the next few weeks or so.
When things start rolling it really builds up momentum going downhill.
Oh well what to do.
I think we all want to learn, but sometimes the bloody system doesn't give you enough time to do so.
I really can;t figure out how people can cope with hall life and still go to school like at 8 for lecture haveing only slept like at 5 or something. Talk about supreme willpower.
Yes in the meantime I think I have no choice but to mug over Chinese New Year.

9:25 PM; Now you know why
Hahah I have a lot of fruits in my house.

Yeah we all get our vitamins.

10:22 PM; I think we really don't appreciate how lucky we are enough.
Some thoughts on the current education system, on the danger of sounding preachy even to myself.
I think many are motivated to study because they view it a means to an end, be it a better job or a better grade or something. I am guilty too.
But we can't really blame ourselves. We are human. And Singaporeans have already been conditioned in such a way that it almost becomes a
Pavlovian reflex; study hard, get good results, get a reward.
While this is not totally wrong, I think we sometimes study without processing what we're doing much. We don't have much of an intellectual
curiosity outside of what we study. We do only graded work. We only look through books useful to us in examinations.
In short, we fail to enjoy learning, and our ability to think critically is severely limited.
University is highly competitive, so yes we do so we won't fall back. But when an
opportunity presents
itself for us to learn in a fun way, do we take full advantage of it and try to learn as much as we can just because we want to and not
because we need to?
Of course there will always be the ones trying to take advantage of the system by trying for as many shortcuts as possible. There is
someone like that in everyone. I mean, no point working by a less efficient method when you know a better one.
I really appreciate the underlying intent of the freshmen seminar that the university has offered to us. How we are free from judgement, if only for a single module, how we are allowed to decide how much we want to make our time, money and effort worth learning.
Academic responsibility is also usually lacking. How I often pass up slipshod work too. Because I just want to get it over and done with.
I really believe it's a time for change and hence my harping on how I want to love study. For once, I want to do it for myself, even though the motivation behind this motivation is still so very realistic.
It's time we tried to look at study as something that we can use in future life, be it the extra facts that we learn or a greater love for the spirit of
enquiry.
Having said that, I will attempt to clarify my doubts with People Higher Up whenever I have doubts. Never been good at that.
Now is a good time as any to start.

10:19 PM; I hope I'm going in the right direction
It's very said to be on the losing side of an unrequited love affair. Haha. No I am not referring to persons of the male gender. Yes I really hope studies will love me back. It'll be so fantastic.
Doesn't it make you go all aWwwwwww when ever the two lovers embrace under the coconut trees, basking in the glow of an orange sunset by the beach.
Such a happy-ever-after.
Yep either that or I need to invest more in this relationship. I don't think I am still giving it my 100%. I think I can do better.
I will dedicate more of my time and energy. I will try. Seriously try.
On another note, it's very nice to like have people recognise you actually care somewhat about what you wear. I was in CBLC and ironically, a male actually identified my shirt from Hollister. Then we proceeded to praise the miracle that is online shopping hahah. Yes and 100 bucks for 3 hollister shirts are way crazy. I got mine for like what, about 10 Sing dollars? But overall, it was still an amusing conversation.
Have borrowed my biochemistry textbook so that I don't have to waste money buying. However it irks me that for the next lecture there isn't any reference for the text that I have. Anyway according to the seniors, the daily work assignments and the practical tests are very important so it is extremely essential that I do well for them.
Yeps I am going to spend a lot of time on the computer without going online shopping. I shall resist the temptation.
The pace of school life is going to pick up very soon especially after Chinese New Year when all the tutorials and practicals come rushing in to fill all of my afternoons.
So with everything factored in it probably means that I will stay in school until 5 or 6 depending. I shall learn to make good use of the time for studying. Hahaha.
My lover is forever waiting.
P.S. I got news that I have more sponsorship money!!! Muhahah a cool $ 1k. So yes we will probably go timbre and drink ourselves silly. At least I don't have to worry about where money for O week is going to come from. I seriously think we should spend a lot more on O week.

4:56 PM; So that you know.
Bah today was very slack.
Will do better!

1:34 AM; Big Fat Ugly Blister.
Went to poke my blister today. It oozed and oozed for quite a long time. Yes but it was very satisfactory. I will attempt to ice-skate after the skin has dried so I can plaster it.
I now know ankle socks are bad bad things. Will get high socks that go beyond the shoes. And to plaster blister-prone areas.
Yes in spite of this I will continue to focus on my studies and love study. Fantastic stuff. Although the lecturers aren't really helping in some modules I think I will cope.
Lovestudy. I love my books.
Let's not spend too much time on the net.
Look at the
ungodly hour of this post.
I surpass myself sometimes
haha.

11:40 AM; Day 0
Yesss school is starting tomorrow.
And as much as I look forward to redeeming myself this coming semester. I am filled with some apprehension.
What if this term turns out to be tough? What if I don't do well? What if I become another lazy bummer?
Hmmm I guess I really need to want to learn more. Learning is not a burden. So I tell myself. I think if I repeat that often enough. Studying will really become more enjoyable. Nothing without effort, I guess. I will love studying.
On the other hand, besides loving lerning, I think that I should also do more sports and activites and fully enjoy my term. It'll be fun. There'll be forums and stuff in school. Go for plays, musicals, makan with people. Things like that. Balance.
The piority of course is still schoolwork. I will learn to love it.
Ok I have to finish up reading endcrine before tomorrow. GIT after that before the physio lecture begins. Physio I think is all about the understanding. SP1201 assignments should be fun too.
Yess time to work.

6:44 PM; Let's have fun!
Oooh to make school life more interesting I propose a Have a Theme week!
Haha everyday we must come up with some overall theme for school dress
yah. 70s to school girl to demure to artsy or something. Then see who can come up with 5 cool outfits.
Sounds fun
hor? Better than wearing same old shirt and jeans.
Yah of course must
fulfil school going criteria.
I.e. for lab days shoes must be covered. No towering heels cos NUS is stair-filled. And of course no S & M look. That's just hell crazy.
Sorry I am a bored person who is currently obsessed with clothes. New year coming do shop people!!! :)
3:55 PM; Save me!
I'm addicted to online shopping.
Haha people if you want to see sites ask me for some.
Yes I know I am spending too much money for my own good. I don't want to total up my bills at the moment.
But hey, you only live once, might as well.....
ok lousy excuses.
Oohh some things are really pretty though, even though it's not like I am going to wear them or anything.
Haha I shall make a mention of this
blog's most avid reader, Ms
Kuan Yee.
Haha. I suspect the reason why she does so is because she has no other way of communicating with the rest of the world, being mostly holed up with teeth and all. (Holed...teeth...geddit? Sorry lousy pun.)
Oh so for her and other bored females out there. (Who reads this thing, really?) Here are the following sites I've newly discovered.
This is a site for rather cheap Korean, Jap and HK inspired stuff. Yes it is cutesy but then there is the ok piece once in a while.
This one is for designer-inspired goods. Kinda pricey, but I have a feeling it'll cost a lot more outside. Yeah some are pretty nice.
Random blog with misc sprees and stuff. Designer as well, mostly.
Ok after surfing so many of these websites it seems like the stuff are getting slightly repetitive. Makes me wonder too how much these people are making gah. Wonder where is their supplier? Then I can go and make deal lols then I would save a hell lot yah. Sheesh. Once the site gets popular it seems that those people jack their prices anyhow. Yes we all need cheap and good-looking clothes.
But seriously, no one will go to school dressed up everyday. Well, no one in science anyway. Just look around at some of the sartorially-challenged people walking about in godawful rotten slippers. Well, not like I haven't made fashion mistakes, but hey I don't make them everyday. Not naming people, but then some (SOME) of the PRCs really come to school in whatever.
Not that we should all spend a lot of time on appearances, but I believe in not torturing people with the sight of ugly things. Especially when marks and the crazy mugging is already ugly enough as it is already.
On that note. It's quite an amusing thing, but most people in Singapore dress to fit in, not stand out. Maybe we're all scared of criticism, but I think you can't put together a smashing outfit without getting a few errors in the way. It's perhaps time to try? We should all make some effort. Especially when it isn't very expensive to dress in basics now. And there are so many combinations that you can get out of if you have the right things, even if there is only a few.
Bah I keep suffering from buyer's remorse after looking through all the nice things there are. Like I could have gotten something more glam with my moolah. And after some unrewarding trips to orchard showed me yah things online are really kinda cheap actually. Ugh.
Hmm for that cheapness I guess you'll have to take a risk. Yeah let's stimulate the economy people. Even though oil prices are going bonkers.
But what has oil got to do with clothes anyway? Haha.

4:31 PM; Bambino!
Watched this pretty good series on
Crunchyroll by this title.
Stars again
Matsumoto Jun of Hana
Yori dango, detective
Kindaichi and
Kimi wa petto fame. He's also known as one fifth of the singing
boyband Arashi. Well all
jap boybands sound the same to me so don't ask me to judge.
It's a rather inspiring series on cooking and how he overcomes adversities to learn more about the spirit of cooking and serving people.
While such motivation theme stories are rather common, this is a more realistic struggle of the common man to excel in a chosen profession. He questions if he has made the right choice to give up school, his hometown and girlfriend to do a thing that may not reap profits, but to do something that he is
genuinely interested in.
What I liked most was the fact about how you should always to happy with your job, and how it is always important to love the people you are serving. About how you should face your job daily.
It's quite a pick-me-up series worth a watch.
1:33 PM; Let's all be cheapskates.
Hello people. Here is a post for you. Yes, you heard right. For once I don't blog for myself.
Ok, heard a nice song on the net but can't
erm, download it? For those that don't read digital life, download this idiot proof program from here:
http://www.freemusiczilla.com/Then go to sites like
imeem. Google it cos I'm lazy.
Got the song? Good. But hey, it's in
flv format and can't listen to it? No worries!! Head to:
http://www.smallvideosoft.com/download.phpDownload the flv to mp3 converter and once again, to use that is pretty much idiot-proof.
Yes now we won't ever go away without songs we love.
You don't have to thank me for it. :)

8:33 PM; Past.
There was once when life was a monotone
Shades of black, gray, white
It wasn't sad, it wasn't all too bad either
In fact things might be a lot simpler
It wasn't faded, it wasn't dated as well
People might say timeless charm
Maybe that what it was
Life preserved and frozen for keepsake
When it was so I didn't know
That it would end up in black and white
The riotous colors sure have dazzled
Overwhelming, overwhelming
Now that colors have faded
It all brings some sort of clarity
Now I know what has already been
And it seems more distant somehow
It isn't really a part of me anymore
But signposts down the road
That I slowly trot down
No more than passing scenery
While the rest of it remains firmly colored
Until I walk past it
Dusting all the colors, the hindrances
With not as much as regret but as fondness

10:16 PM; It didn't seem that long
We enter into the year of the big two-0.
Haha like someone said, we'll never been in our teens anymore (teen being things like nine-teen).
Somehow it doesn't seem like it.
Anyway, it dawned on me that people around me will start getting married once I start graduating. Which is a scary thought really. I can't even see myself with a male who is more that a friend.
Bah then people start making more babies and then populating the world worse.
Seriously if I ever had a choice I wouldn't choose to be born, no matter how happy I can be. I think I'm just lazy.
Oh well, I didn't have any say in the matter, so yeah.
Well yes I think getting hitched for me is more or less an impossibility. Bah the idea freaks me out really bad.
I don't know how people can proclaim their love like it's a cup
runneth over. Surely you need a lot of time and energy. Not to mention a whole lot of thick skin (what makes you think the other party should like you?) and a lot of self delusional thoughts.
It seems funny that people who can't live with themselves think that they can live with other people. Or how people can have such messed up lives or such horrible character flaws but people still dumbly like them.
Love, I think, isn't blind. It just sees what it wants to, and the glaring faults are reduced to little tiny specks that floats to some corner. When things get sour, these specks get swept up off the floor swirling into some monstrous maelstrom.
Funny really. Unless people want to be best friends that have sex together or something.
But I guess it won't be the same thing, will it?
Haha I amuse even myself sometimes.
It speaks of immaturity, but it's either that or very deep rooted cynicism.
Or maybe I've just been watching too many stupid shows.
6:57 PM; Beneath the bed of roses are the thorns

10:07 AM; Normalcy is a good thing.
Yes this will be a random topic post.
Got a new
Maxtor external hard drive this week. 120 GB
woohs. I need something to store all my photos and stuff and it seems more reliable than DVD-Rs. Goodness knows how long those will last.
Am in the middle of transferring all things.
Got a lot of stuff from cotton on plus a new swimsuit.
Hahah it was expensive considering it came out of my own pocket. Need more things for the new year though. They include:
-Pair of shoes (wedge love!)
-A dress (probably something I can get to school in)
-A pair of
birks (my last are two stinky things)
-A nice top (have new pair of jeans)
-A pair of shorts
I need these minimum to get me through the rest of the semester. Got some go to school tops already so it should be fine.
Going to eat
Jap with Yuks and Ros that would be good too.
Oh yeah the
Cors bidding is going crazy. Have dumped in all my points already so will ignore the closed bidding period thing. I have a grand total of 4 points left in my program account. And that is a mean feat considering I have like 1250 or there abouts to start with.
If I don't get that bloody module I will kill myself.
More shopping to be done yeah. And will leave house early today to go open a
UOB campus a/c. Sigh.
Oh well then the mugging starts and we will all have fun.

2:29 PM; New things, new things.
It's been another year.
Oh well we will get used to the year 2008 soon.
Haha all those lousy references of I'll see you next year is finally over.
Here's to another happy new year.
